PULVERIZING MILL TYPE "SF"
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
These kind of micronizers show a high efficient grinding effect based on a combined impact and shear action due to:
High speed (80๗115 m/s)
Large grinding surface with small gap between rotor and armours
Special multistage rotor with blades
The process flow sheet shows the working of the installation with mill SF in the most common applications.
The material is fed into the lower part of the mill by a screw feeder and is ground by a combined action of shear, impact and violent turbulent motions created by the special shape of the rotor and of the grinding elements.
The ground product, swept upwards by the air flow, is classified by the separator placed in the higher part of the mill.
The fine material is discharged upwards and collected into a filter, while the reject of the separator is recycled into the mill .
Depending on the raw materials, its possible to design the plant with cooling system, drying equipment, inert gas in close circuit.
APPLICATION FIELDS
Fine grinding of non abrasive materials
The SF mills are suitable for producing very fine air selected powders of a lot of medium hard and medium abrasive materials.
The high fineness obtainable with these mills makes them suitable for producing directly the required powders in the fineness range 98๗99% minus 40 micron and/or 90๗98% minus 20 micron, or to feed microclassifiers to produce powders minus 5๗20 micron.
The SF Mills can be fed with granulated materials or powders up to 2๗10 mm., however the SF mills can refine efficiently even materials with feed size less 1 mm.
Production of coated calcium carbonate
As special application we mention the post treatment for the production of coated calcium carbonate with stearic acid
Micronizing of coarse cereals
SF mills are suitable for fine grinding of cereals lower than 300 microns and specially, for the post treatment of coarse coming from sieves.
Micronizing of rubber and plastic raw materials (PVC, PE, white rubber, etc.)
For these applications the shear action is essential
Cooling of grinding room is necessary in certain cases.
