BALL MILLS
FEATURES
It is a well–know fact that, among the various types of mills, the ball
mills, (tubular or double-cone-shaped) are the ones most suitable for
grinding very abrasive products, because of their simple, low cost and
reliable way of working.
For ordinary types of grinding work, mills are supplied with
manganese steel or Ni-Hard cast iron linings, and with balls or
chilpebs also in manganese steel or Ni-Hard cast iron as grinding
media.
Where it is desired to obtain ground products that are entirely
free of traces of iron, mills are supplied with linings in silica, steatite,
alumina or porcelain, and with silica pebbles, or balls of steatite or
alumina as grinding media.
These mills may be constructed and used
for dry or for wet grinding. Those suitable for dry grinding can
operate in a closed cycle with an air separator or an air conveying
system. Heating can be supplied when wet products are to be ground.
Raw material feed and ground product discharge are continuously
operated.
